How to change the size of the Static partitions in Linux

Steps to change the size

  1. Make the drive offline(unmount)
  2. Clean and scan the drive(e2fsck)
  3. Resizing and formatting the drive(resize2fs)
  4. Mount the drive again
$sudo e2fsck -f <device-name>
$resize2fs  <device-name> <desired-size> 
$sudo mount <device-name> <direc>
